Girl Gathered started as a way to host fun events designed for women to come and find community. But soon we realized that during activities it can be hard to truly connect with someone one-on-one. That’s why we introduced friend dates. When you come to an event, the chapter director will take your information and after the event connect you with one person that also attended (if you’d like to sign up, of course!). You will each receive each others contacts, and during the month, decide how you’d like to meet; whether that is a coffee date, walking date, or some other meetup, you decide how you’d like to continue the conversation!

Where should we meet?

Opt for a public location over your home. Keep it central to where your group meets. Coffee shops, local restaurants, and libraries are great options!
What should we talk about?

It’s important to remember this is not an interview - so there is absolutely no pressure to appear greater than you really are, just be you! Consider what may be exciting them in life, or ask about their current hobbies, or where they see themselves in 5 years. Really listen to what they say so you can follow up on these at the next GG event!
How can I make the most of my friend date?

Try and keep your phone put away. Choose a place you can actually talk and hear each other. Be willing to share about yourself. And don’t overthink it! They are probably just as nervous as you are! Keep one another’s contact info and keep in touch through events and more meetups :)
